Anal Fissures

What are anal fissures?
Anal fissures are tears in the lining of the anal canal that are often mistaken with haemorrhoids because of the symptoms. One may experience pain, itching, burning, and blood in the stool. The difference is that fissures, as they are tears, not a case of unnatural swelling, will not protrude outside the anus.

How do they occur?
Anal fissures can be caused by over-stretching the anal sphincter muscle. This can be caused by

  • Pressing out hard, dry faeces
  • Chronic constipation
  • Prolonged diarrhoea
  • Anal fissures are also common in women after childbirth

Anal fissures, similar to haemorrhoids, are a condition often caused by an unhealthy diet combined with weakened tissue and can be overcome by helping to fortify the tissue and living a healthy lifestyle.

Can HemoClin help?
HemoClin is designed to relieve the symptoms of fissures and haemorrhoids as well as other anal discomforts. As anal fissures occur in the same region as haemorrhoids, HemoClin can also help alleviating the user from the symptoms of anal fissures. Furthermore, HemoClin can help to prevent anal fissures, because they are caused by weak tissues and can be prevented by lubricating the anal canal, thereby supporting natural tissue.
