Causes
Causes of Haemorrhoids
Haemorrhoids can occur because of a number of relatively common factors. This can be the result of an irregular or unhealthy lifestyle in combination with strain on the blood vessels in the haemrrhoidal cussions. This strain can be the result of increased ‘pressing’ during defecation (such as during constipation) or during pregnancy. An unballanced diet results in weak tissue which in turn allows the blood vessels in the haemorrhoidal tissue to rupture, causing the tissue to swell. If left untreated, this tissue can continue to swell resulting in the development of a haemorrhoidal problem.
